Pumkin Patch

This is the third year we've gone to the Fritzler Farm. It's a great pumpkin patch with a huge corn maze and tons of rides. We let Aiden lead us around the corn maze which he enjoyed but definitely made the maze a little longer. Aiden got to ride in the barrel train all by himself this year which he really enjoyed.

Colorado Springs/My 33rd Birthday

We went to Colorado Springs this year for my birthday. We've never been and we have some friends down there so we thought it would be a good time to go. We've heard a lot about the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and the Garden of the Gods so those were the main things we wanted to do up there.
We got there in the afternoon and Z booked me a prenatal massage which was awesome!!! After a nap, we met out friends Sarah Beth and Matt in Old Town Colorado Springs. Unfortunately, most of the shops were closed but we did find an amazing popcorn place that sold every flavor of popcorn that you could imagine. After Old Town we hit up an yummy hole in the wall Mexican restaurant that Sarah Beth had discovered. It reminded us of the Mexican food we used to love in San Diego.
On my birthday, we went to the Zoo. Aiden was really excited because he knew he could feed the giraffes and who doesn't want to feed giraffes right? I was a little nervous because I heard there were a lot of hills and being almost 9 months pregnant, I wasn't sure if I would manage. It ended up being an amazing day! Not only did we get to feed giraffes but we also got to feed elephants!!!! It was pretty hilly but I managed. We attempted to see the Garden of the Gods after the Zoo but Aiden was  pretty exhausted so we stopped for a few minutes but mostly drive thru it. We ended the day with dinner at the airplane restaurant. As you probably guessed from the name, it's an airplane that was turned into a restaurant. Aiden really, really enjoyed this. The food wasn't that great but I think you pay for the experience, not the food! :)

Aiden's first day of preschool

Well it happened, the day I've been dreading since Aiden was born...his first day of preschool. We dropped him off this morning for his first day at Windmill. He'll go Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30am-11:15am. We've been talking about preschool, playing preschool with his animals and reading books about the first day of preschool for about a month and it seems like it may have helped. He didn't cry at all when we left. He was the first kid in the door, he washed his hands and sat at the table where his name tag was located and traced his name as instructed by the teacher. I said goodbye first, I kissed him and gave him a high five and then Z did the same. I saw a brief moment of fear on his face when he realized we were leaving but it quickly passed and he continued to trace his name. The facility has cameras that cycle trhough the different rooms in the lobby. We stayed and watched two quick glimpses into his room. In the first glimpse, he was still sitting in his seat but he was looking around (we could only see the back of his head) in the second glimpse he was back to tracing his name. So, it looks like he is doing ok. I hope it lasts all morning! As I'm sitting here typing, it's onlu 9:48 and it seems like I dropped him off hours ago!!!I just want to go pick up my baby!! :( Here's some pictures from the first day of preschool!

Circus

Aiden to his first Circus today and boy was he excited!!! I told him yesterday and I probably should have waited until a couple hours it started because for the last two days all he asked was "what time is it?", "when are we going to the circus?" etc.
His favorite part was the elephants and the horses and the camels. He even got a stuffed elephant to take home and add to his ever growing collection!
Here are some pictures. It's getting harder and harder to get a picture where Aiden is actually looking at the camera and smiling so there are not many to choose from! :)

St Lucia

In St. Lucia, we decided to take a break from the beach. We were all SO sunburned. Aiden even had a heat rash on his stomach and back. So in St. Lucia, we took a tour of the island and saw a rainforest. In the rain forest, Ziyad got a chance to crack open a coconut, we ate fruit right off the branches and were treated to a typical St Lucian lunch

St Kitts

In St Kitts we took a bus tour of the island that included a visit to a nature museum, a volcano beach and dropped us off at a beach for a few hours to enjoy the ocean. We weren't sure how Aiden would do on a long bus ride but he did awesome!! He like looking at the map and pretending he was the tour guide and eventually fell asleep.
